I lived in Manhattan for years, and yet I’m still a touch daunted every time I bring my son into the city. At the same time, I love exposing him to the sights, sounds, and culture that the metropolis has to offer! I’ve found that it’s most helpful to have a single destination in mind when day-tripping into New York; the city is best managed in small doses, rather than in overwhelming chunks. Below are several ideas for NYC day trips, which of course can be combined into one larger vacation, if you do not live in the area.
